Duo-Gard and 3form Create New Collaboration

Performance. Aesthetics. Economy. Architects and designers gain new advantages in all three with a collaboration announced by two industry leaders in glazing materials and systems technology. Duo-Gard Industries Inc. will provide complete turnkey systems and solutions for canopies, shelters, building facades and other exterior applications.

A new line, marketed by Duo-Gard, is named Fusion and integrates 3form translucent polycarbonate glazing panels with Duo-Gard’s engineered structural systems to create advanced aesthetic possibilities in 92 color options, three finishes and three thicknesses.

The collaboration takes Duo-Gard’s expertise in outdoor applications to a higher level of aesthetic diversity, while it moves 3form into new exterior territory, expanding the markets for both companies.

“3form is renowned as a materials manufacturer that allows a designer to get different looks tailored to project goals,” said John Willham, senior vice president and general manager of strategic accounts. “But materials are just that without a framework. It all starts with a systems approach, and Duo-Gard has those systems. Our collaboration gives the designer additional degrees of freedom with hundreds of options. We’re excited about working with Duo-Gard.”

Duo-Gard’s expertise in exterior applications enables its sales, engineering and installation staff to package a product that includes a total turnkey solution from the ground up, according to David Miller, president.

“3form material technology and Duo-Gard’s extensive knowledge of the exterior market create the perfect complement to bring a new dimension to architects and designers looking to advance their offerings to clients,” Miller said.

Miller added that the initial application will be to expand Duo-Gard’s award-winning Sleekline Canopy System. Additional applications include transit shelters and structures, as well as building facades and accents.

“Each company has advanced the industry in its own way,” said Miller. “Together, our creative efforts will result in new product innovations and solutions that will enable both of us to make further progress for the A & D community. All of us at Duo-Gard are eager to help make this happen.”

3form polycarbonate panels combine design flexibility with unparalleled aesthetics and strength that glass cannot match. Duo-Gard’s engineered systems provide high-performance structural support. The turnkey package offers complete cost-effective solutions.

Headquartered in Canton MI, Duo-Gard was founded in 1984 and specializes in translucent daylighting, canopy, curtainwall and shelter systems. 3form is based in Salt Lake City UT and was founded in 1991 to provide innovative materials for interior partitions, walls and accents.
