What size and style should I order?

Depends on your smoking population, your site and your company philosophy. Figure about 8-12 square feet of space per smoker. We offer 77 standard sizes from 4'1" x 4'5" to 16'3" x37' in fully enclosed shelters. We offer 3-sided open or attached styles, plus custom designs. We've built shelters as large as 20' x 50' and equipped them with every imaginable amenity.

What comes with my shelter?

Depends on the style. Every standard fully enclosed shelter is a year-round structure complete with 38" door, self-ventilating roof and operable screened panels.

What's it made of?

Depends on your request. Polycarbonate, glass or acrylic glazing is typical. Our standard enclosed shelters are twin-walled polycarbonate, a high-tech plastic 200 times stronger than glass. It's shatterproof, fire-resistant and translucent to let daylight through, and we use bronze tint to give your occupants privacy. Our frames are tough 6063-T5 extruded aluminum.

Where can I install it?

Anywhere that's convenient on your site. Duo-Gard shelters meet UBC, BOCA and local codes. We recommend you construct your foundation on new or existing concrete pads. Anchoring requirements depend on your foundation choice.

What about ADA requirements?

Your Duo-Gard shelter meets them. We'll work with you to include any special options you choose, such as automatic swinging or sliding doors.

What options should I add?

Talk with us about your company philosophy, climate and budget. The more comfortable occupants are, the more likely they'll be to use the shelter. Electricity, exhaust, lights, heat, AC, seating, ashtrays are common additions. We also provide options such as insulated ceiling/wall panels, automatic doors, motion sensors and photocells.

How long will my shelter last?

Your Duo-Gard smoking shelter is a long-term solution. We originated this concept in 1991, and the first shelters we installed are still used every day.

Who'll install my shelter?

Your shelter is built, knocked down and shipped in modules. Install it yourself using our video and technical help as close as your phone. Two semi-skilled workers can install a typical shelter in a day; larger ones take 2 - 3 days. Or we can install it nationwide.

How soon can I get one?

We'll build and ship your shelter in 4 to 6 weeks typically. Need it sooner? We'll try hard to meet your specific timetable.
