Enhancing Campus Mobility: Duo-Gard’s Bike Shelters at the University of Washington

Duo-Gard has been collaborating with the University of Washington to provide numerous secure and enclosed bike shelters since 2018. We have completed two custom shelters and several Cambridge-style shelters from our standard bicycle shelter line. Each bicycle shelter optimizes bike parking capacity and is tailored to its specific location on campus. Duo-Gard has developed various standard sizes of our Cambridge model for the university in an effort to provide efficient bike storage solutions as well as offer design and planning flexibility.

Duo-Gard’s standard Cambridge Bike Shelter is a secured, enclosed shelter. It features walls available in perforated metal, welded-wire mesh, safety glass or monolithic polycarbonate. The roof is available in standing seam metal in a variety of Kynar paint finish colors or translucent 20mm standing seam polycarbonate in opal, bronze or clear. The shelter’s frame is available in clear, black or dark bronze anodized finish, or a powder coat finish. It features optional electronic-entry compatible door and internal recessed puck style LED lighting systems. The Cambridge shelter is designed with enough internal height to accommodate dual height racks to best maximize bicycle parking density.
